Yawn… Yawn…Yawn...

Yawning at all inappropriate times!!! Is yawning considered a sign of boredom? Does it happen out of exhaustion? I am not sure, but yawning in the class is something I cannot resist.

Sometimes it happens and the guy at the far end smiles with sympathetic eyes, probably thinking I am sleep deprived. Other occasions, my bench mate and I enjoy it with almost silent giggles. We proudly take turns yawning. Then there are those unfriendly looks from students saying, "Why don't you concentrate in the class?" I admire those who yawn in the class without much botheration and think it is some kind of class activity. While some classes are very interactive, I seldom speak in other classes. Proven to be contagious by psychological theories, it is good to see your fellow class mates yawning. The most inappropriate time is when the instructor catches you yawning and the most hilarious moment is when you catch your instructor yawning. I thank them for being a source of inspiration through yawning.

Do you have any funny experiences that can be shared?

O yes.......I belong to the same community......but with one more distinction added it......yawing while sitting on the last bench......throughout my life I have been a back bencher......and the only days I have used the pre-last benches was when someone else ran to the classroom faster than me..... :)

But I must say.....its a sure pleasure to yawn in the class-room......its like you know you are not being to understand things and you don't hesitate in showing the same to the whole world.......more like......if you are not interested in serious literature, you would pick up a book like 'Five Point someone' without any shame........and I personally just love that :)

keep it up......at least I am with you.......lets create a 'Yawn-ing community' :)

I don't recall ever yawning, but I fell asleep once sitting in the first bench. It was not the lecturer's fault though. I just could not stay awake and I put my head down on the desk and slept like a baby.
